    Job Description

    DATA MANAGEMENT ANALYST (PART-TIME)

    STATUS: Part-time, non-exempt

    SCHEDULE: M-F, up to 25 hours per week. Number of hours and days per week will fluctuate depending on organization needs.

    REPORTS TO: Director of Institutional Research

    DIRECT REPORTS: None

    START DATE: ASAP

    LOCATION: Chicago

    SUMMARY OF POSITION:

    This position will assist with a comprehensive alumni data migration and cleanup project including extracting data from multiple data sources, identifying and resolving conflicting information, and transforming data for upload into a comprehensive database.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Conduct a comparative review of historical data to identify and reconcile differences between data sets
        • Update alumni profiles to achieve standardized coding of defined data elements
        • Collect relevant historical data from multiple data sources; clean and reconstruct data to prepare for migration into database
        • Assist in identifying data elements that require further institutional standardization or definition.
        • Support efforts to achieve stronger data integrity by developing an accurate and comprehensive data repository.
        • Responsible for other duties, as assigned

    EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

      • Exceptional attention to detail and appreciation of data integrity
        • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
        • Two years' experience or coursework in data science, information management, or other relevant academic fields
        • Experience in data manipulation, SQL, Python data cleaning, and/or database support strongly preferred
        • Prior experience with relational database management systems, such as Blackbaud Raiser's Edge, preferred, but not required

    EDUCATION:

    High School diploma required, Bachelor's-level coursework in relevant academic field(s)
