    Job Description

    The Trade Show Sales Specialist will be responsible for managing the trade shows and events attended or hosted by ILS Products during the calendar year. Trade shows include the various state/regional events that occur around the country throughout the year. Trade shows average 50,000 people and a one week time line. Travel is a necessary part of this role and any candidate applying should be available to travel within the United States.

    The Trade Show Sales Specialist will also be responsible for signing on and following up with companies or individuals interested in signing up for our distributor program.

    The Trade Show Sales Specialist will also be responsible for signing on and following up with companies or individuals interested in signing up for our distributor program.

    Base Salary + Sales Commissions will be paid per month on B2C sales as well as quarterly on B2B sales.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsibilities for the Trade Show Sales Specialist

    • Independently manage 12-24 trade shows per year of varying sizes
    • Management includes:
    • Developing timeline and plan for each show,
    • Developing a communication plan for each show in conjunction with Operations Manager
    • Set up and tear down of booth
    • Development/execution of logistics plan for each show,
    • Pre-show and post-show meetings/follow-up with sales, etc.
    • Measurement and reporting of success of each event is required. This should include a post-show download/meeting with the Operations Manager
    • Financial Management of each event will include:
    • Contracts with facilities and suppliers,
    • Making sure all aspects of show fit into proposed budget and reconciliation of that budget after each show.
    • Must establish and maintain strong professional relationships with various trade organizations and trade show vendors.
    • Must be flexible and willing to attend/travel to shows as needed.

    RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE EVENTS VARY BY EVENT BUT INCLUDE:

    • Planning and research of event venues for all major events
    • Set up and tear down of booth materials
    • Onsite sales
    • Follow up sales
    • Distributor vetting
    • Distributor sign up and follow up
    • Some customer service, such as follow up questions or basic product clarification questions

     

    Planning includes initial venue research and negotiations and presenting options to Operations Manager. Once venues are secured will work closely with the various locations to manage menus, logistics and costs as they relate to the overall event budget. Includes coordination and management of any third-party or outside vendors related to the event, including, but not limited to transportation, entertainment providers, various events and trade shows as outlined above, the Trade Show Sales Specialist will participate in weekly status meetings and provide updates on all assigned projects, as well as monthly meetings to discuss overall Trade Show performance.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    The Trade Show Sales Specialist should be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starter who can balance many ongoing projects. They should be able to develop project schedules to stay on schedule to meet necessary deadlines. They should be able to report on status of their ongoing projects or tasks as requested and provide routine updates to the Operations Manager. They should be able to manage budgets for assigned projects and facilitate invoice approval for these projects. They should be adaptable and able to manage other projects as assigned. They should have good written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable with all aspects of business computing and typical software programs.

     

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must have 1/2 ton truck or larger (mileage will be compensated at market rates)
    • Must have bumper pull trailer hauling experience (up to 24ft length)

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook) is a must.
    • Must be comfortable adapting to other software tools through training and maintaining a working knowledge of those tools.
    • Must be comfortable or willing to learn UPS Shipping Tools and working with Freight companies to arrange shipments, etc. of materials to and from the office.
    • Knowledge of equine or cattle will be given preference
