    THE INDIANA MOTOR TRUCK ASSOCIATION (IMTA) IS A MEMBER DRIVEN, NON-PROFIT TRADE ASSOCIATION THAT HAS REPRESENTED THE INTERESTS OF TRUCKING SINCE 1934. THE ASSOCIATION'S ROSTER OF MEMBERS INCLUDES COMPANIES THAT, THROUGH STRENGTH AND VISION, PLAY IMPORTANT ROLES IN THE SUCCESS OF THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY, BOTH IN INDIANA AND ACROSS THE NATION. THE IMTA STAFF WORKS CLOSELY WITH MEMBERSHIP TO ENHANCE THE INDUSTRY'S IMAGE, EFFICIENCY, AND PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH FOCUS ON SAFETY AND ADVOCACY.

    • This full-time opportunity reports to the President and has two direct reports. 
    • Salary with benefits including health, dental and life insurance with opportunity to participate in simple IRA plan with company match.

    VICE PRESIDENT

    • A background in the transportation / logistics industry is a requirement. Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing activities and programs in the association. 

    • Working with the Board of Directors and its councils /committees to ensure goals are being met while bringing fresh ideas and ambition to the association. This role requires strong management of the association's financials.

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Strategic planning

    • Main POC for the IMTA Board of Directors and the councils and committees

    • Fiscal leadership

    • Monitor industry trends and share information with team/leadership

    • Media contact / Social media contact

    • Public relations – Main POC for the IMTA License Plate #PUTTHEPHONEDOWN program which educates youth about distracted driving and sharing the road with truck drivers

    • Manage special projects as needed

    • State & federal government relations – a key focus on working with the Indiana Department of Transportation, Indiana State Police, Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and the Federal Motor

    CARRIER SAFETY ADMINISTRATION

    • Occasionally testify at statehouse on important bills to the trucking industry

    • Work closely with the Membership Director to focus on marketing, engagement, and growth

    • Event growth and management

    • Intrastate travel is required on a regular basis and occasional out of state travel

    REQUISITE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Logistics and trucking industry background and experience required

    • Experience in managing direct reports

    • Association or non-profit experience is a plus

    • Experience in operations a must

    • Ability to work independently, often with sole ownership and accountability for projects

    • Resourceful

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changes in priority in a fast-paced environment

    • Forward thinker

    • Strong written and verbal communications

    • Skilled as a public presenter

    • Strong interpersonal skills

    • Knowledge of P&L statements and budget planning

    • Strong computer skills and experience with database and accounting software:

    o QuickBooks

    o Adobe and Adobe InDesign a plus

    o Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel

    o 3rd party marketing email skills preferred

    BS degree preferred but not required
