Job Description

The primary responsibility for this position within the Systems Engineering & Test team is to assist current engineering staff through execution of engineering verification tests of both released and new product development projects.

Specific duties may include:

• Forming test plans using provided standardized templates
• Executing test procedures
• Data capture through various methods
• Test reports and summaries using provided standardized templates
• Equipment preparation and lab setup

Qualifications

• Active student with two or more years of physics, chemistry, material science, electrical or software engineering
• Ability to work well in cross-functional teams and demonstrate good communication skills
• Self-motivated, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and enthusiasm for learning
• Must be able to work in an organized manner with guidance from mentor
• Must be able to receive and understand instructions from a mentor and independently execute test procedures
• Must be able to do data analysis, graphing, summarize results, and write a report

ONE OR MORE OF THE PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge or practical experience with digital systems, and/or analog & RF designs
• Practical experience with Python scripting, or other test automation development skills such as LabVIEW
• Knowledge on vacuum technology equipment, measurement and applications
• Knowledge or practical experience in mass spectroscopy, gas chromatography, and/or optical based measurement, sensors and instrument

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $18.00 and $26.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
