    NOTICE OF VACANCY – ELEMENTARY TEACHER

    August 11, 2022

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Valid State of Michigan Elementary Teaching Certification: K-5 All Subjects (K-8 self-contained)
    • Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified requirements as defined by the Michigan Department of Education
    • Support and participate in all district and building level school improvement initiatives and plans
    • Ability to differentiate instruction for students of varying ability while maintaining high academic rigor and expectations for all students
    • Ability to use technology to enhance instructional practice, innovation, learning, collaboration, and sharing
    • Ability to develop and implement curriculum, instruction and a balanced assessment model in the classroom that meets or surpasses MDE and District determined benchmarks, standards and recommendations
    • Ability and knowledge to manage student behavior and implement appropriate classroom behavior intervention plans
    • Ability to complete all paperwork, reporting deadlines and interface with various stakeholders as required for all students
    • Ability to serve in a teacher leader capacity when required
    • Ability to develop strong supportive parent/guardian relationships
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practice and student achievement
    • Evidence of commitment to professional growth
    • Evidence of professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: As a Blueprint district, we are seeking teachers that skillfully demonstrate the leadership competencies and expertise needed to support systemic reconfiguration and to effectively respond to the district’s commitment to dramatic improvement in student, teacher, and leader performance in a short amount of time.

    QUALIFIED CANDIDATES SHOULD SKILLFULLY DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:

    • the strong desire and ability to achieve outstanding student achievement results in a short amount of time
    • the skill and willingness to leverage the Intense Student Support Network to ensure that students’ social, emotional, health, and nutritional needs are addressed
    • the ability to collaboratively create and execute clear, logical instructional plans that produce strong results in student learning
    • the drive to prioritize student-learning needs over the customs, routines, and established relationships that can stand in the way of necessary change
    • The ability to motivate students and influence their behaviors
    • The commitment to coordinate instruction within and across grade levels
    • The vigor to maintain his/her drive for results by demonstrating persistence, directness, and the ability to monitor and plan ahead.
