    Position Title: Radiology Technologist

    Location: Salem, VA

    Job Description:

    The Radiology Technologist performs various diagnostic imaging procedures under the direction of a radiologist or physician. This role involves operating radiographic equipment to produce quality images of designated areas of the body, adhering to safety protocols and ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and fluoroscopies.

    Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.

    Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring accuracy and quality of images produced.

    Follow established protocols for radiation safety and protection, minimizing exposure to patients and staff.

    Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to review and interpret images, providing accurate and timely results.

    Maintain patient records and documentation of procedures performed.

    Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines related to radiology practice.

    Assist in patient education regarding imaging procedures and answer any questions or concerns.

    Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on advances in radiology technology and techniques.

    Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or departmental leadership.

    Qualifications:

    Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

    Current certification or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the state of Virginia.

    ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification preferred.

    Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

    Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

    Flexibility to adapt to changing work environments and patient needs.

    Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

    Prior experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move patients as needed.

    Manual dexterity and visual acuity for operating equipment and positioning patients.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond calmly in emergency situations.
