    Role : Central Supply Technician II Location : White Plains, NY Type : Full-time Shift : Days, evenings, Nights

    Job Responsibilities:

    Decontamination and Disinfection: The technician will identify and utilize appropriate methods and solutions to sort, disassemble, decontaminate, rinse, and disinfect instruments and clinical equipment. They will also operate and troubleshoot cleaning equipment and handle garbage, linen, and biohazardous materials while adhering to safety standards.

    Equipment Maintenance and Inspection: The technician will be responsible for maintaining the proper functioning of sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and instrument decontamination washers. They will perform regular inspections to ensure the equipment is in good working condition.

    Instrument Assembly and Packaging: Using standardized recipes, the technician will correctly assemble, protect, wrap, containerize, peel package, and label instruments. They will also inspect instruments to ensure they are clean and functional.

    Storage and Handling: The technician will be in charge of handling and storing sterile supplies, equipment, and instruments appropriately to preserve their sterility.

    Sterilization Procedures: The technician will select suitable sterilization methods and follow correct principles of sterilization. They will also document and verify sterilization loads and biological tests to assess the effectiveness of the sterilization process.

    Supply Disbursement: The technician will retrieve, disburse, and track medical and surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to customers.

    Equipment Proficiency: The technician will demonstrate knowledge and competence in using, maintaining, and operating specific equipment related to Central Processing, such as steam sterilizers, Sterrad, OER-Pro, cart washers, washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, heat sealers, and various testing devices.

    Requirements:

    · Education: High School Diploma or GED is a mandatory prerequisite.

    · Certification: Candidates must hold one of the following certifications:

    · Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)

    · Central Supply Processing Department Technician (CSPDT)

    · Experience: Prior experience in Central Supply or Operating Room instrument processing is preferred but not required.

    · Familiarity: Familiarity with medical technology is considered an advantage for this position.
