    Job Description

    We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team at our Oak Ridge, TN Corporate Offices.

    We offer superior payroll services that allow business owners to focus on what is important, growing their company, and not have to worry about whether their employees will get paid on time. We also take on the task of managing tax compliance, filing returns, reporting payroll wages, and handling all deductions and garnishments, including child support.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Process multi-state payrolls for clients timely and accurately while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The goal is to ensure personnel receives the correct compensation in a timely manner.

    PAYROLL SPECIALIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Gather information on hours worked for each employee from client contacts

    • Calculate the correct pay amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer system

    • Receive approval from upper management for payments when needed

    • Prepare and execute pay checks and/or stubs through HRIS and distribute accordingly.

    • Keep track of hourly rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new hire information etc.

    • Address issues and questions regarding payroll and billing from client

    PAYROLL SPECIALIST REQUIREMENTS:

    • Trustworthy with attention to detail

    • Confidentiality and discretion required

    • Outstanding organizational ability

    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

    • Aptitude in problem-solving

    • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office suite - Intermediate to advance excel skills preferred

    • Ability to coordinate and prioritize

    • Flexibility

    • Ability to work as a team member under pressure in a rapidly changing environment

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Customer Service – 1-3 years’ experience

    • 1-3-years’ payroll processing experience

    • High school diploma

    • PEO preferred but not required

    • Prism HR experience a plus

    POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

    This is an hourly full-time position - Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
