    About the job

    IOWN Renewable Energy, Inc. is seeking an Associate, Commercial Analysis to leverage your skills in financial modelling, market analysis, risk assessment, and project valuation! You'll evaluate investment opportunities, gather and analyze data from diverse sources, and collaborate with finance, legal, and project development teams to align business strategies. The candidate will work for a rapidly growing renewable energy company headquartered in San Diego which seeks an associate to advance greenfield project development and M&A. The candidate will directly impact key decisions and participate in an open and collaborative company culture. The candidate will gain exposure to utility scale projects across various technologies (PV, Wind, BESS, hybrid, and emerging technologies) at various stages of project lifecycle (early, mid, and late-stage M&A and greenfield development), in various geographies across the continental US. The candidate's contribution is vital in enhancing the financial and strategic dimensions of renewable energy projects to maximize IOWN's economic success.

    Responsibilities:

    Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

    • proactively in modeling tasks, providing support across various modeling activities conducted regularly.
    • market research proficiently, adept at gathering and interpreting data from various sources to inform decision-making processes.
    • in-depth research and analysis, and subsequently synthesizing complex data into comprehensive reports aimed at facilitating strategic decision-making processes.
    • with other internal and external teams and colleagues in the development, construction, and asset management of projects.
    • and present findings of analyses to key stakeholders and decision makers.
    • in regular team meetings over phone, video conference or in person.
    • incident and injury free workplace through strict adherence to health and safety.
    • duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications, Education and Experience

    A minimum of bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline or equivalent experience in a related field.

    • advanced proficiency in Excel software to facilitate effective data analysis and modeling tasks.
    • with Python, Matlab, and/or Tableau preferred (training platforms and crash courses are available for skill enhancement.)
    • a foundational understanding of finance and accounting terminology to facilitate clear communication and collaboration.
    • industry interest or experience in renewable energy, though prior sector experience may not be obligatory.
    • proficiently conducting market research, skilled at gathering and interpreting data from a variety of sources to inform decision-making processes.
    • in research and reporting capabilities, synthesizing complex information into comprehensive reports for strategic insights and decision-making.
    • with a high level of initiative and accountability.
    • Skills: Demonstrate effective teamwork alongside company management, coworkers, and employees. Utilize tact and diplomacy in interactions with company personnel, clients, customers, and regulatory agencies. Recognize the importance of cultivating healthy relationships to accomplish team objectives.
    • Proficiency: Maintain open and consistent communication with company manager, coworkers, and employees.
