The Accounting Manager is responsible for significant accounting and financial reporting functions as well as handling daily transactions and analysis of the activities. The Accounting Manager will support the CFO and other members of the Accounting team and all other departments within the organization. The Accounting Manager is a critical and integrated member of the Finance & Accounting team.
Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries for day-to-day operations, analyzing accounts and making necessary adjustments
Account maintenance, and Reconciliations for 15 Locations for several Deferred Revenue Accounts, Credit Card Receivables, Deferred Straight Line Rent, Deferred Tenant Improvements, , Accrued Expenses, Accrued Payroll, Gratuities Clearing, Accrued Film Rental, Accrued Utilities, Accrued Insurance, Vacation Accrual, Accounts Receivable(Trade and Vendor Sponsorships), Prepaid Expenses, Prepaid Taxes, Prepaid Insurance.
Monthly preparation of Landlord sales reports for 15 locations
Assist Accounting Team with weekly revenue reports & other supporting documentation for all locations
Coordinate and resolve various issues with the bank such as cleared check differences, bank fees, and monitor positive pay exceptions.
Expense review, and reporting, Concur Administrator
Maintain the Corporate Credit Card Accounts
Capitalization of labor
Census reporting to the Federal authorities
Maintain support & communication with Management & Administrative staff of various IPIC locations
Manage Armored Car Services
Responsible for reconciliation and processing of vendor electronic payments
Own Month End reporting and tie out of the Detailed Working Month End Close Spreadsheets and Reconciliations to the Consolidated Balance sheet
Assist with preparation of year-end audit request, taxes, and detailed schedule preparations
Review and approval and release of significant wire transfers
Understand and identify internal controls issues and best practices where necessary and advise of necessary improvements with cost/benefits considerations
Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
A minimum of eight years in an accounting department full-cycle accounting experience
Must have extensive experience working with Great Plains accounting system, Management Reporter, Smartlists
Ability to work in multi-tasking environment and adapt to changing priorities
Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Works well with others every day in a team environment
Adaptable to change, a self-starter with a positive attitude
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, highly analytical and a problem solver
Exceptional knowledge accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Advanced ability with bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
Must be a Power User with Microsoft Excel, Macros, and Pivot Tables
Must have advanced knowledge of accrual accounting concepts with proven experience in recording journal entries, maintaining complex detailed schedules of accounts and reconciling those accounts on a monthly basis within 10 days after the close of the month
Must have full cycle close experience
Must have experience in the hospitality and entertainment industry
