    Leffler Consulting is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. The candidate will provide support to one of our customers onsite. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.

    Position: Senior Cloud Engineer

    Location: Washington, DC

    Position type: Onsite

    Clearance: Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

    Responsibilities:

    Attend and advise the Government’s CCB, as needed

    Support successful migration of SAFES Enclave to the DoD-defined Cloud Domain, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices

    Architect and deploy cloud infrastructure, including migration to a new cloud that supports Linux

    Monitor and minimize costs of any commercial cloud utilized while maintaining an appropriate level of end-user capabilities and access using tools native to commercial cloud providers

    Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and patch virtual switches, etc. in the cloud layer.

    Provide Kubernetes expertise during the migration process to the Linux-based Momentum/FEX environment.

    Manage and implement network policies and security certificates

    Diagnose and correct cloud-level issues that develop in the enclave

    Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python, PowerShell, or similar scripting language to support end users and developers of the system

    Design, implement, and manage CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous development) pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment processes using tools like Jenkins or similar

    Utilize cloud platform expertise for infrastructure as code (IaC) security protocols, and scalability for cloud migration and cloud operations

    Develop and maintain procedures for the cloud layer and automation work done

    Review and evaluate the effects on security of cloud and automation changes, including interfaces, and forward evaluation to the CCB for review and analysis

    Design, develop, and manage the underlying cloud infrastructure, such as virtual machines, storage, and networking components

    Integrate cloud-based systems with existing on-premises infrastructure

    Develop and deploy cloud-native applications, ensuring optimal performance, scalability and security

    Implement security measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations in the cloud environment

    Demonstrate ability to adapt, perform critical thinking and identify solutions for the evolving cloud requirements

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field

    Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification required; Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) desired. Hyper-V and VMware certifications are a plus.

    Two (2) to three (3) years of proven experience as a Cloud Engineer/Administrator, specifically with a Kubernetes certification; PowerShell and Python experience preferred

    In-depth knowledge of cloud computing technology and virtualization concepts

    Strong proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g. PowerShell, Python)

    Experience in designing, developing and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications

    Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements with a minimum of two (2) examples of practical application

    Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)

    Knowledge of DoD security Cloud requirements

    Experience in designing and implementing security measures for cloud environments

    Familiarity with back up and disaster recovery strategies in virtualized environments

    Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Effective communication and collaboration skills

    Two years of experience working in SAP and/or SCI environments
