    Job Description

    We are hiring an actuary to support our consulting activities for the Personal Property lines of business.  Lines of business primarily include Homeowners and Dwelling Property.   

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with external clients to maintain and enhance their rating programs. This work includes rate reviews, rating factor and rating plan analyses, and new coverage pricing.
    • Present the results of actuarial analyses to actuaries and non-actuaries to help elicit decision-making.
    • Assemble filing material and support those filings by responding to customer and regulatory inquiries.
    • Utilize your line of insurance expertise to analyze market, industry, competitor, legal and regulatory trends and use these to provide actionable insights to clients.
    • Drive quality results and integrate customer focus into everyday operations.
    • Satisfy customer specifications and requirements and meet contractual deadlines.
    • Occasional travel may be required for industry conferences, customer visits, etc.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.  Additional relevant education or degrees are a plus.
    • FCAS or ACAS is desired.  Candidate is expected to be actively pursuing actuarial exams.
    • Computer skills: Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are required, and VBA, SAS, SQL, Python,  R and/or other programming languages are a plus.
    • Minimum 4 years insurance experience desired (personal property experience preferred).  Deep knowledge of market, industry, customer, competition, etc. desired. Strong record of building great internal or external customer relationships that focus on innovation, product improvement, or ease of use.
    • Familiarity with insurance coverages, actuarial methodologies, and quality control
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong project management skills to take the ownership of the projects to make high quality and timely deliveries.
    • Ability to work under time constraints and adjust plans in the face of changing priorities.
    • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
