    Job Description

    The Writer, Insurance Analytics supports Verisk’s ISO business as an expert at transforming complex research into broadly accessible and compelling communications.  

    Responsible for developing articles and reports on insights derived from ISO’s robust insurance premium and loss database.  

    Responsibilities: 

    • Research and write articles, white papers, and reports that provide insurers with analytic and actuarial insights from ISO’s Core Line Services. 

    • Deliver clear, concise, and compelling writing on tight deadlines in accordance with standards for quality and timeliness. 

    • Manage and prioritize multiple concurrent projects to ensure deadlines are met.  

    • Continually refine writing to improve content performance. 

    • Act as a project leader for assigned marketing communications programs, including marketing planning as required and budgeting. 

    • Assist in identifying, coordinating, and implementing projects that accomplish the division’s messaging goals and marketing needs. 

    • Proofread content from other writers and marketing colleagues as assigned.  

    • Perform all core requirements of the position and all special projects and other duties as assigned with certain degree of autonomy.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree — preferably in English, journalism, marketing, or communications or equivalent experience. 

    • 5+ years of experience in print or online journalism, writing content on a frequent basis. 

    • Comfortable reading and translating complex statistical research into highly accessible articles and reports.  

    • Exceptional communication skills; ability to interact, collaborate and communicate effectively with individuals of all levels across areas.  

    • Superior analytical and promotional marketing skills. Good working knowledge of communications technology, marketing analytics, SEO, and various social media. 

    • Ability to learn and adapt to continuously changing priorities.  

    • Must be highly organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines and changing priorities. 

    • Strong project management and organizational skills. 

    • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software tools. 

    • Knowledge of property/casualty insurance or a strong desire to learn about insurance is required.
