    THE OPPORTUNITY:

    The Director of Corporate Functions IT will be responsible for delivering technology, strategy, solutions, and support for Corporate Finance and Procurement. This role will manage a team of over 16 individuals, including managers and individual contributors. In addition, the role will oversee Business Relationship Management and delivery activities that require collaboration between business units and IT (including Infrastructure teams, Divisional IT, and Support) to successfully deliver Company solutions. This portfolio includes approximately 100 managed service resources and over 550 applications, with an annual project portfolio exceeding $40 million.

     

    This position will provide leadership and support to the Chief Financial Officer and his team. Supporting seven Corporate Officers, this global role oversees the delivery and business relationship management of over 550 applications, including 35 critical enterprise applications that support our Financial Consolidation processes, and Corporate Procurement organizations. Examples of these critical, large-scale global applications include EPR programs, Ariba, OneConcur, Hyperion EPM, and Cadency.

     

    The expectation for this role is to define a strategic vision, influence stakeholders, and understand the domains in scope to ensure technology remains at the forefront of the business. The position will collaborate with the business to develop and execute roadmaps that align with the overall business strategy. Additionally, the Director will ensure these roadmaps are prioritized in accordance with IT and business goals. This role is responsible for providing strategic insights and thought leadership to guide executive decisions on investment strategies, including risk management. The goal is to ensure stability and efficiency across approximately 550 applications and an annual project budget exceeding $40 million.

     

    A key focus of this role will be modernizing financial systems to enhance operational efficiency, security, and scalability. The Director will evaluate current financial technologies, identify areas for improvement, and implement modern solutions that align with industry’s best practices. This includes leveraging cloud-based platforms, advanced analytics, and automation (RPA, Generative AI, etc.) to streamline financial processes and improve data accuracy.

     

    This role will lead and influence the direction of the domain, providing coaching and mentoring to a highly capable team. This position reports to the Senior Director of IT Corporate Functions and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of new financial technologies with existing systems, driving innovation and continuous improvement across the organization.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work in conjunction with the business, drive the management of 3-5 years strategic roadmap, portfolio management and prioritization and secure required budget.
    • Ensure processes are adhered to in the tracking of status and serves as an escalation point for the Business.
    • Review Finance & Procurement business capabilities and develop a 2–3-year roadmap to achieve the desired business goals, such as becoming Best in Class or World Class
    • Create business case and ROI for financially/non financially justified projects including working with business to write formal funding requests.
    • Anticipate capacity and ensure it is known, monitored and adequate staffing provided for solutions and projects across respective domain(s).
    • Develop and execute plans to ensure capacity constraints do not impact upcoming or inflight projects within and across domains.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with strategic partners.
    • Monitor project execution and evaluate work in terms of time, cost and quality targets. Assesses and evaluates risk. Communicates effectively, both formally and informally.
    • Demonstrate leadership.
    • Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders who have diverse objectives. Understands the relevance of own area of responsibility/specialism to the employing organization.
    • Manage communication and negotiation with suppliers & other BTS organizations to obtain required solution design and sizing (hours effort). Reviews and approves infrastructure, software related project costs.
    • Partner directly with business and IT leadership and strategic sourcing providers.
    • Function as Single Point of Escalation for all questions, activities and issues related to business relationship management and project delivery requests within the Corporate Finance & Procurement domains.
    • Responsible for evaluating performance of organization against defined metrics and implementing process improvements as necessary.
    • Responsible for Staff and Travel budgets as well as identifying needed decreases/increases per the financial schedule.
    • Approve ROM estimates prior to project initiation.
    • Review and approve time reports/invoices Monitor actuals.
    • Accountable for accurate financial estimates.
    • Identify and structure their organization to align to the current and anticipated future strategy of domain.
    • Report to Executive level providing updates on strategic initiatives and project progress.
    • Technology evaluation & implementation – Identify areas for improvement in current technologies and implement cutting-edge solutions that align with industry best practices.
    • Collaborate cross functionality to ensure seamless integration of new technologies with existing systems.
    • Lead, coach, and mentor a highly capable team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
    • Provide strategic insights and thought leadership to guide executive decisions on investment strategies, including risk management.
    • Modernize financial systems to evaluate and upgrade financial systems to enhance efficiency, security and scalability by leveraging cloud-based platforms, advanced analytics and automation.
    • Engage and influence stakeholders to gain support for strategic initiatives and technology investments.
    • Develop and articulate a clear strategic vision for the technology domain, ensuring alignment with overall business goals, industry best practices and trends while driving continuous improvements.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • A minimum of 12 years of IT experience in large or mid-size multinational healthcare organization. Broad IT expertise in various disciplines; systems development, infrastructure etc.
    • Strong influence and negotiating skills demonstrating executive presence
    • Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams.
    • Must be able to lead & influence without authority
    • Strong organizational skills, including program/project governance and increased levels of staff oversight.
    • Experience in setting IT strategy and business IT alignment.
    • Proficiency in Finance is essential, with a preference for experience in Procurement business operations.
