Job Summary:
The IT & Application Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of Alpen’s technology ecosystem by providing first-line support for both internal IT systems and business software applications. This position assists with network and systems troubleshooting, maintains application functionality within Paradigm and related platforms, and supports users across multiple departments. The role bridges IT infrastructure and software support—helping Alpen maintain efficient, connected, and secure operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for software applications, including Paradigm, Salesforce, Microsoft 365, and other internal systems. 
 
- Assist in the configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of applications and integrations. 
 
- Support IT infrastructure, including desktop setups, network connectivity, and basic hardware troubleshooting. 
 
- Monitor application performance and escalate issues as needed to IT or software vendors. 
 
- Maintain and update user permissions and system access in coordination with IT policies. 
 
- Create and maintain documentation such as process guides, troubleshooting steps, and configuration notes. 
 
- Collaborate with software vendors and Alpen’s internal teams to ensure prompt issue resolution. 
 
- Participate in technology-related projects, testing, and process improvement initiatives. 
 
- Perform data entry, validation, and report generation as required to support business operations. 
 
- Other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent experience. 
 
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, etc.). 
 
- Familiarity with software support and troubleshooting across web-based and desktop applications. 
 
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Windows operating systems. 
 
- Knowledge of Paradigm software or other ERP/CRM systems is preferred. 
 
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical users. 
 
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 
 
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to learning and problem resolution.
 
 Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the VP of Technology and collaborates closely with both the IT team and Alpen’s software operations group.
 Compensation: $24–29/hour, depending on skills and experience. **
