    Position Summary

    Are you an aspiring IT technician looking to build your tech career with real, hands-on experience? At Gophermods, you'll gain end-to-end repair experience across Apple devices (MacBook and iPad), Chromebooks, Windows laptops, Microsoft Surface devices, and desktops. Consistency and high-quality work are the standard here. We believe great results come from disciplined processes, strong organization, and attention to detail. If you enjoy structured work, following checklists, keeping a tidy workspace, teamwork, and taking pride in doing it right, you'll fit in well.

    Technical experience is welcome but not required. If you're a beginner IT technician or IT career starter looking for paid training, this entry-level IT role is for you. We're open to candidates from high-quality, process-based, detail-heavy backgrounds such as assembly, refurbishment/repair, quality inspection, warehouse kitting, food prep with standards, automotive basics, or electronics/PC building hobbyists.

    Key Responsibilities

    Repair & Refurbish

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Chromebooks, MacBooks, Windows laptops, iPads/tablets, Microsoft Surface devices, and desktops

    • Perform common repairs such as screen and battery replacements and component swaps

    • Complete full device refurbishment workflows including cleaning, reassembly, and final QA testing

    • Follow checklists and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality results

    Education & Business Projects / Provision & Deploy

    • Configure, image, and prep devices with white-glove care and enterprise-level precision

    • Stage, organize, package, and prepare devices for delivery

    Logistics, Asset Care & Documentation

    • Assist with IT logistics, parts handling, and asset management

    • Record serial numbers/asset tags, repair notes, and device status updates accurately

    • Use company systems for ticketing, documentation, basic workflow tracking, and invoicing

    • Handle parts, tools, and devices responsibly

    Teamwork & Efficiency

    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

    • Collaborate with teammates to streamline repair workflows and meet evolving client needs

    Required Qualifications

    • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

    • Experience: No prior technical experience required; paid training provided from day one

    • Reliable transportation to the Twin Cities warehouse location

    • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday during scheduled shift hours

    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow checklists, standard operating procedures, and structured workflows consistently

    • Comfortable working with small components, hand tools, and delicate electronics

    • Ability to stay focused and maintain a steady pace through repetitive, detail-oriented tasks

    • Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting repair notes, asset information, and team coordination

    • Basic computer literacy (comfortable navigating operating systems, typing, and using web-based tools)

    • Dependable, punctual, and accountable with a strong work ethic

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior experience in assembly, refurbishment/repair, quality inspection, warehouse kitting, or similar process-driven environments

    • Hobbyist experience with electronics, PC building, or device repair

    • Familiarity with Chromebooks, Apple devices, or Windows laptops

    • Experience in automotive, food prep, or other detail-heavy, standards-based work environments

    Schedule & Work Environment

    • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

    • Work Environment: On-site at our New Brighton, MN warehouse facility

    • Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required during peak seasons

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

    • Ability to sit and stand for periods throughout the shift

    • Manual dexterity for working with small components, hand tools, and delicate electronics
