    Job Summary

    This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This IT Specialist position is with the U.S. Army Communication Electronics Command (CECOM) INFO Systems Engineering Command.

    Job Description

    • Monitor operations of a complex network environment with a large number of users in an installation/command ensures corrective action to restore operation actions and operational service.
    • Prepare/proposes, concepts, plans , and doctrine to ensure continuity in transition of new and existing DoD systems.
    • Perform in-depth analysis of automated and manual systems related to networks and /or telecommunications to accomplish design goals.
    • Serve as team leader responsible for the staff supervision of assigned, telecommunications systems, networks, projects and programs.
    • Provide planning technical in nature, and hardware/software engineering assistance to Information Management system user requiring communications/network support in the initial stages of project planning.
    • Explore technology concepts and advanced state of the art information/communication systems for evaluation to meet future Army requirements.
    • Develop guidelines for formulation of policy and life cycle control of Information management hardware/software in such areas as operation concepts; function analysis; interoperability analysis.

Basic Requirements for IT Specialist GS-2210-IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below, based on the grade-level required, at this position being filled: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to meeting the basic requirement listed above ; To qualify for this position you must also meet the specialized experience qualification requirements listed below- Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing guidance in using new and existing methods to solve multidisciplinary integration problems related to classified networks, state of the art network equipment, and/or leveraging enterprise capabilities; AND 2) Conducting engineering analysis in preparation of project requirements, such as comparing alternatives of cost, time, and/or equipment for management review; AND 3) Producing products/deliverables such as hardware/software engineering installation and implementation plans resulting from engineering research/analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas Planning and Evaluating Systems Integration Technology Awareness
