IT Specialist - Simply Biotech

Immediate opening for an IT Specialist with a biotech company in San Diego, CA who possesses:

• Azure experience - user creation at minimum. Atlassian (Jira & Confluence)
• Experience with Windows 10 & 11 troubleshooting, user set up
• Network troubleshooting experience

** FULL DESCRIPTION :**

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Provide user support and technical administration for Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and ClickUp, ensuring alignment with internal processes.
• Design, install, and maintain structured cabling systems including data drops, patch panels, and network closets.
• Support Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, identity management, and security configurations.
• Perform regular cabling and network hardware audits to ensure organization, performance, and compliance with best practices.
• Monitor and troubleshoot hardware and software issues across workstations, servers, and peripheral devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project rollouts and meet IT requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, network layouts, and cabling diagrams.
• Ensure cybersecurity policies and procedures are followed across all systems.
• Procure employee and customer hardware.

The selected candidate will also possess:

• 3+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (Active Directory, VM management, security).
• Hands-on experience with Fortigate firewalls and general network security practices.
• Proficient in managing and configuring Atlassian tools and ClickUp.
• Experience in planning, implementing, and maintaining structured cabling (Cat5e/6, fiber optics preferred).
• Knowledge of network protocols, switching, and routing fundamentals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Fortinet NSE) are a plus.

Salary Range: $30-$35/hr
