About the Role
Solvix Auto, a Meineke Car Care franchisee operating 56 locations across Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois, is looking for an entry-level IT Support Assistant to join our small but growing IT team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their IT career, whether fresh out of school, self-taught, or coming from a tech-adjacent retail role, to get hands-on experience supporting a real, multi-location business.
You'll be the first line of support for day-to-day technical issues across our store network: phones, internet connectivity, basic hardware and software troubleshooting, and general tech support requests from store staff and management. This role is ideal for someone who's patient, detail-oriented, comfortable talking users through problems over the phone, and eager to build real-world IT experience.
What You'll Do
Field and resolve day-to-day IT support requests from store locations, phones, internet/connectivity issues, printers, POS-adjacent hardware, and general troubleshooting
Coordinate with our ISPs and phone vendors (Comcast Business VoiceEdge, Spectrum, and others depending on store location) to report and track outages or service issues
Provide basic hardware support: diagnosing common PC issues, coordinating equipment swaps or repairs, and setting up new devices for store staff
Document recurring issues and maintain clear records of support requests and resolutions
Escalate more complex technical issues to the IT Systems Administrator as needed
Occasionally travel to nearby store locations for in-person support or equipment delivery/setup
Help maintain accurate device and equipment inventory across all locations
What We're Looking For
A genuine interest in IT/tech support and a willingness to learn
Strong communication skills, comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical staff, patiently and clearly, by phone or in person
Basic familiarity with Windows troubleshooting, general computer hardware, and common connectivity issues
Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple requests at once without getting overwhelmed
A valid driver's license (occasional local travel required)
Nice to have, not required:
Prior experience in a tech-adjacent retail role (e.g., Best Buy Geek Squad, Micro Center, similar)
Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote support tools, or basic networking concepts
No prior professional IT experience required, we're looking for the right attitude and aptitude as much as a resume.
