**What the Role Offers - IT System Administrator
**
The IT System Administrator will manage and optimize Windows Server projects, oversee Azure AD and Office 365, design and maintain network infrastructure, and ensure system security. Responsibilities include backups, virtualization (Hyper-V), server performance, patch management, and supporting technical initiatives involving cloud solutions and emerging technologies.
What You Need to Succeed
Manage and optimize the design and delivery of projects associated with Microsoft Windows Server and stack, including installs and setup of new servers and server upgrades to server 2022.
Management of Azure AD, Office 365, and all associated applications that the company utilizes on and off-premise.
Design, implement, and manage the network and domain associations that encompass Inventprise’s physical locations.
Manage and understand network equipment, including firewalls and switches, ensuring VLAN access and non-cross-pollination of VLAN segments.
Administer and manage daily backups via Veeam and or other company-procured and managed backup solutions. This would include validating backup and recoveries, and providing mean time to recovery metrics for both local and online solutions.
Enhance resiliency by moving corporate services, such as DNS and DHCP, to highly available deployments on individual servers. This would include other services such as file share, etc.
Lead business-critical information security initiatives involving encryption of local workstations and scanning network for vulnerabilities using tools such as Nexus Vulnerability Scanner. Incorporate memberships into free tools such as CISA and other free solutions.
Support and management of network infrastructure of routers, switches, wireless access points, and all VPN connections and port configurations.
Minimal understanding of SQL and its variants.
Monitor client and server alerts utilizing purchased or open-sourced options as determined by IT leadership.
Document existing network and software matrix and related dependencies, including department usage and local department SME’s.
Audit existing GPO environment and AD environment and contribute extensively, with IT leadership, in the migration of AD and other legacy systems to recent and compliant OS’s.
Work with System Administrators to ensure that patches are being deployed in a timely manner to both severs and clients, managing downtime windows and notifications.
In partnership with IT leadership, contribute to the technology architecture design, strategy, vision, requirements, and solutions for large-scale initiatives to reduce one-off types of implementations and corresponding administrative overhead.
Administer the virtual environments based on MS Hyper-v technologies
Evaluate and provide input on new technologies such as converged, hyper-converged infrastructure, monitoring solutions, and cloud integration.
Review emerging technologies and provide recommendations based on industry best practices enhancing infrastructure services and security to end users.
Maintain availability and optimal performance of all servers within the company’s local and online environment.
Monitoring and administration of the company network, securing the network in accordance with the current best practices.
Installing and configuring software and computer systems.
Diagnosing and resolving issues with software or hardware.
Provide technical support for the company.
Develop solutions utilizing Azure or AWS online that would synergize with ongoing or future technology projects, aiming at convergence of platforms.
