About the Role We are seeking a reliable and experienced IT professional to provide on-call support for our small office in Nashville, TN. This is a freelance, retainer-based role with no guaranteed monthly hours. Support will be provided on an as-needed basis, particularly during busier periods, along with occasional assistance for day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support for Mac computers, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Assist with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Office, Teams)
Implement and manage cybersecurity measures, including phishing protection
Install and troubleshoot Rally Bar and other office hardware
Set up and maintain new and existing laptops, including UPS installation
Maintain printers, shredders, Wi-Fi, and other office equipment
Troubleshoot software and hardware issues across the office
Ensure all systems and devices operate efficiently and securely
Requirements
Proficiency in macOS and Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with both onsite and remote IT support
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Expertise in cybersecurity best practices
Flexible availability for on-call support
Compensation Details
$300 monthly retainer covering up to 3 hours of work
Retainer is paid at the start of each month, regardless of hours used
Additional hours beyond the initial 3 hours are billed at $50/hour
Workload may vary: typically 10–12 hours during busy months, with fewer hours during slower periods
