    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    Work closely with multiple business areas to ensure integration and consistency of category messages, assortment strategy, and merchandising principles to help achieve annual targets and goals.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and cultivate business relationships with leading tobacco retailers that establish the Company as the indispensable partner for all category management needs.
    • Serve as the subject matter expert on Category & Customer Insights team by mastering applicable POS and customer loyalty card data, and space management software.
    • Build comprehensive knowledge of the products, attributes, strategies, tactics, and competitive trends in the marketplace for our categories & customers.
    • Oversee development and execution of assortment/merchandising optimization, new product introductions, and pricing/promotional evaluation.
    • Partner with our chain account teams as a category advisor to drive value and engagement with our key chain customers.
    • Leverage data from multiple sources to create impactful analytics and selling stories to identify risks, opportunities, and performance gaps (i.e., distribution, assortment mix, incrementally, merchandising).
    • Employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recognize and anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond reporting and translate insight into retail action.
    • Work effectively with Sales, Brand Marketing, Consumer & Market Insights, and other cross functional teams to establish, lead, and maintain the flow of category insights to our customers.
    • Provide ad-hoc category management reporting, trend analysis, customized reports, and special project work directly to internal / external leaders as necessary.
    • Keep abreast of developments and best practices in Category Management, pursue the knowledge needed to improve departmental capabilities and professional agility.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Required Minimum Qualifications** : ****

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Data Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or related field of study and 3-5+ years related work experience
    • Must be 21 years of age or older
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license issued from state in which employed

    Experience:

    • Consumer goods, retail, or syndicated data with focus on category management, sales, business analytics and/or customer insights
    • Understanding, utilizing, and employing wholesale shipment to retail data, syndicated data, customer card/POS data, and panel data to drive internal and external wins through sales and share growth (from sources such as MSAi, Nielsen, IRI, Numerator, 84.51)

    Knowledge of:

    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
    • Retail merchandising and in-store execution tactics

    Skilled in:

    Work Environment and Physical Demand:

    • Requires light physical effort. Occasionally lifts or moves light objects (under 10 lbs.).
    • Walks, sits, or stands for prolonged periods.
    • Requires prolonged machine operation including computer and keyboard equipment.
