    Job Description

    Job Summary:

    Develops, implements, and plans the environment, social, and governance (ESG) and sustainable tobacco program (STP) programs related to Leaf production and Green Leaf processing in the Americas region. Manages Leaf and Leaf-service suppliers’ adherence and performance to ESG goals and requirements. Develops and provides key information related to costs of production and crop developments to Leaf Procurement to collectively achieve best possible outcomes for Leaf cost, quality, and availability.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Execute ESG due diligence and STP program requirements and evaluate Supplier Performance for Imperial Tobacco and ITG Brands Leaf Suppliers and Leaf service providers.
    • Responsible for the ESG due diligence of green leaf processing facilities for the Americas region and cigars generally through the SORT survey and support from GIA and 3rd party providers.
    • Manage and engage directly with suppliers to enact all required STP program incidence responses and provide guidance for corrective actions required to meet program requirements and continuous improvement towards ESG goals.
    • Responsible for verification of supplier risk assessments and self-assessments in line company standards.
    • Support the development, measurement, and verification of Leaf Partnership projects in the Americas to support Imperial Tobacco and ITG Brands ESG initiative and goals related to Leaf production and processing.
    • Provide timely and objective measurement of ESG programs and progress towards goals and Leaf supplier performance.
    • Identify improvement areas to support suppliers through training and other measures on requirements of STP and any Leaf Sustainability programs.
    • Coordinate, validate, and provide real-time information to Leaf Purchasing and other stakeholders related to crop production progress in all Leaf production markets and for all tobacco types in the Americas.
    • Serves as a contact to Leaf suppliers and Leaf Procurement stakeholders to assist in providing required information and any necessary Leaf quality verifications.
    • Responsible for monitoring, managing, and reporting on supplier compliance to relevant standards, laws, and regulations.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ** Required Minimum Qualifications** : ****

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Science, Engineering, or other related field of study and 5+ years related work experience; or
    • Associate degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Science, Engineering, or other related field of study and 7+ years related work experience; or
    • High school diploma or equivalent and 9+ years related work experience
    • Related experience to include:
      • 1+ years supervisory or managerial experience
      • Commercial agricultural crop production, agronomic research, and/or work in business/organization to produce or support agricultural production.
      • Proficiency in ESG and Sustainability requirements related to Agricultural production.

    Knowledge of:

    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
    • ESG and Sustainability requirements related to Agricultural production

    ** Preferred Qualifications** :

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Science, Engineering, or other related field of study and 7+ years related work experience.
    • Related experience to include:
      • 3+ years supervisory or managerial experience
      • Experience in Managing commercial crop production, agricultural research, and/or directing supplier operations for crop production or agricultural research.
      • 2+ years’ experience Leading Sustainability programs related to Agricultural production.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Certified Crop Advisor
    • Certification for Commercial Application of Agrichemicals
    • Full proficiency in written/verbal English, Spanish, and Portuguese
