    Job Description

    The Corporate Trade Compliance Manager will support the trade compliance programs of ITW’s global businesses.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage various trade projects in line with ITW s flexible culture to implement the trade compliance strategy
    • Support business personnel responsible for import/export compliance to ensure compliance with regulations and trade policies
    • Provide trade compliance guidance to business and corporate personnel
    • Work with business units to minimize risk and support efficient supply chains
    • Contribute to the creation of training, tools, resources, and intranet trade content
    • Conduct training to meet the needs of the business
    • Access and review import/export data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
    • Conduct audits of business trade compliance programs and processes supporting import/export transactions.
    • Meet with and manage preferred/approved customs brokers to ensure they follow corporate guidelines and business instructions
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree is required
    • 5-10 years of trade compliance experience in-house, as a freight forwarder/customs broker, trade consultant or a combination thereof
    • Customhouse Broker License (CHB), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS)/Certified Export Specialist (CES) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
    • Self-starter who is collegial, flexible, and able to multi-task and balance strategic and tactical issues while working in a global team environment
    • Able to communicate in clear, concise, and understandable manner
    • Demonstrated project management skills
    • Demonstrated experience managing inquiries, performing research, providing guidance, and working with a variety of businesses and personnel at all levels to creatively address and solve international sales and purchase compliance issues based on business needs
      • Keeping abreast of import/export laws, rulings, regulations, and working with businesses to stay compliant
      • Creating and presenting training and supporting materials
    • Demonstrated knowledge of:
      • Import entry submissions
      • Export declarations
      • Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification
      • Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification
      • Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal and activities as Trade Account Owner (TAO)
      • ACE report creation
      • Mining, manipulating, and analyzing import/export data in Excel, Power BI to communicate trading statistics, issues, and trends
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, etc.)
    • Ability to travel domestically approximately 10-15% as may be needed and consistent with ITW travel guidelines.
