    Job Description

    The electrical engineer intern for the ITW Body and Fuel Division will focus on electrical charge ports for our electric vehicle fuel housings to support the innovation of our plastic injection molding facilities.  This intern will work directly with the Innovation Manager and Innovation Engineer.   

    The candidate should be enrolled in an accredited institution and be pursuing an Engineering Degree, preferably in Electrical, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering.   

    •    Complete ITW toolbox training (80/20, Front-to-Back, etc.) •    Experience with SolidWorks, or a similar platform, preferred •    Knowledge in PLC hardware and software, preferred •    Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, OneNote) •    Analyze failures and identify common trends.  Utilize internal laboratory for material analysis •    Understands test procedures and performance requirements. •    Analyze and interpret technical data. •    Responsible for data transfers between customers and suppliers. •    Manage all aspects of design & innovation projects, as assigned •    Operate in a cross-functional team environment, both domestic and international •    Responsible for providing project updates at scheduled team meetings •    Completes assigned tasks as assigned

    •    Actively pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably with a focus in Electrical Engineering  •    GPA of 3.0 or better strongly desired •    Effective written and oral communication skills •    Ability to work independently and in a team environment •    Excellent computer skills (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word and windows based software) •    Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment •    FIRST robotics program classes, software or coding courses in language such as Java, C, Python •    Basic Digital Systems Courses: Circuits 1, Circuits 2 •    Knowledge of plastics, injection molding, and tooling a plus •    Knowledge of automotive industry and associated procedures and requirements is a plus •    Understanding of engineering fundamentals
