    Job Description

    INTERNSHIP DETAIL

    This position will be part of a team responsible for Technology Research within the ITW Innovation Center. In addition to learning how the Innovation Center supports the growth across businesses, the internship will expose the candidate to ITW corporate and business structure, our manufactured products, and key supporting technologies.

    During orientation we will work with the intern to select one of the following focus areas:

    ·         ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY INVESTIGATION: Several technologies have significant potential implications across numerous ITW businesses. These “Enterprise” technologies monitored for developments applicability to ITW. The intern can spend time working with one such Enterprise Technology

      • Robotics
        • Augmented/Virtual Reality
        • Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)

    ·         TECHNICAL INVESTIGATION: Initial training and discussion on how to conduct technology investigations will be followed by mentored assignments practicing proper primary/secondary technology research through the use of extensive internal and external tools, focused filtering, culminating in the development of final business reports which address the business needs and aid in directing business actions. As is feasible, candidates will participate directly with an ITW business to gain experience in field of educational focus.

    This is a minimum 12-week internship located in the ITW Innovation Center on the corporate campus in Glenview, Illinois.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    •  College junior/senior or graduate student, pursuing a degree in Engineering, Science or Technology.

     

    COMPETENCIES:

    •  A driving intellectual curiosity
    •  Analytical mindset
    •  Strong oral and written communication skills
