    Job Description

    This intern position will report to the Quality Manager and receive direction from the Senior Document Control Specialist.  The individual will be responsible for a project associated with management of documentation within ITW Medical, primarily/initially at the Washington, NC, location.  The individual will gain an understanding of requirements for compliance required by regulation/standards and with how ITW Medical complies, globally.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter interested in learning regulatory aspects of the medical device business and interested in learning basic simplification practices within ITW.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

    • Develop understanding of retention requirements for Regulatory compliance
      • United States Food and Drug Administration
      • European Union/MDR and ISO 13485
      • Health Canada
    • Review ITW Record Retention Requirements
    • Create a Listing of Current Records
    • Generate Proposal for Electronic Storage
      • Consider time to destruction of current files.
      • Ensure ready accessibility of files
    • Recommend Revisions to Record Retention

    QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

    • Field associated with business or compliance preferred
    • Ability to conduct research, identify/evaluate opportunities, and develop strategy for addressing compliance opportunities
    • Ability to work directly, and through teammates, to implement plans and strategies
    • Must be able to foster, communicate and exemplify the values of ITW; act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, take shared risk.
    • Proficient computer skills - MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
    • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
    • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with experience in communicating and working with a remote team.
    • Takes initiative; able to function independently and make independent decisions
    •  Proven thought leadership capabilities, innovative thinking skill set and the ability to drive change
