    Job Description

    The Retirement Plans Manager will be responsible for managing the daily administration of the company’s U.S. retirement plans in accordance with plan documents, insurance contracts, vendor agreements, Collective Bargaining Agreements, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations, and leads projects related to updates and modifications to those plans and programs. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the day-to-day management of ITW's 401(k) plans, pension plans, and retiree health plan.
    • Responsible for directing team and/or vendors in all administration activities.
    • Communicate overall effectiveness of plans.
    • Understand plan provisions and regulatory framework.
    • Oversee retirement plan administration including annual audit reviews, actuarial valuations, and compliance notices.
    • Develop strong working relationships with retirement vendors and partner will effectively with internal stakeholders.
    • Resolve complex employee issues or complaints.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Manage initiatives involving several stakeholders with major milestones and overall deliverables and report on projects.
    • Monitor competitiveness of plans and recommend strategic alternatives.
    • Creatively problem solve with strong teaming skills good business acumen; recognizes and addresses systemic issues, leverages and shares best practices

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 6-10 years of U.S. retirement plan experience including plan design, program management, pension plan administration, vendor management, and communications.
    • Excellent communication, project management and analytical skills.
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop strong working relationships within the Retirement team and with HR business partners, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.
    • Initiative and ability to work with minimal direction.
    • Strong working knowledge of ERISA plans.
    • Strong working knowledge of current retirement law.
    • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and good judgment.
    • Experience in supervising, coaching and mentoring teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, perform in a fast-paced environment & respond quickly to situational needs as they arise, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
