    Job Description

    SUMMARY:

    The Technical Sales Engineer (Metal Stamping Fluids) is responsible and accountable for providing technical expertise and product knowledge support to the ITW Pro Brands R&D, Marketing and Sales teams. The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible to organically grow existing accounts, and develop new sales opportunities, along with drive the sales process/team through understanding, training, and defining of solutions for customer needs and problems. Supports the ITW Pro Brands distribution partner network through product knowledge, safety, and training. This role will collaborate effectively with other functional areas to support the division strategy

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Responsible for ensuring all technical needs of the sales team, end users and distributors are met in the assigned segment.
      • Product recommendations
      • Sales Team training
      • Distributor training
      • End User training
      • CBI support and expertise
      • Lab projects
      • Product trialing to support new sales opportunities
      • Account management of current business
      • Prospecting of new business
      • Other sales related items/priorities as required
    • Manage and implement specifications for customers, products, and processes within the assigned segment.
    • Provide, marketing and R&D to obtain competitive product samples, information/literature on competitive products as well as knowledge surrounding competitive application/value propositions etc.
    • Assist the marketing team with necessary support for new product launches, product promotions, video content etc.
    • Responsible to deliver company targets for sales and margin within the metal stamping fluid market.
      • Identify and pursue potential new business opportunities and partner with the ‘80’ customers for organic sales growth 
      • Create strong relationships with customer contacts across all levels of their organization through regular visits
    • SalesForce.com (SFDC) – Utilize the system for all areas of documentation required within the region.  Some examples but not limited to:
      • Funnel/Pipeline Management: Foster all leads and opportunities through SFDC to meet all funnel goals, overdrive when possible and ensure that all funnel opportunities are kept current.
      • Contract Management: Execute all contractual process requirements and document within SFDC to ensure compliance with all approval requirements.
      • SPA: Enter in all required SPAs in a timely fashion to ensure proper evaluation and approval of all potential SPAs.
      • Sales Campaigns: Enter in all data required for sales campaigns as required by the management team or campaign leaders.
      • Other: Any additional requests, reports, or details required by the sales management team.
    • Execute any ad-hoc or newly introduced projects, plans, campaigns, or initiatives the commercial management team deems necessary to implement.
    • Comply with timelines for all Workday activities, required trainings and any additional necessary requirements such as Dayforce vacation tracking.
    • Aide the R&D NPD process.
    • Perform other assignments to meet company objectives, i.e., VOC interviews, technical presentations, etc.
    • Field and vet calls and emails from customer leads (distributor and end user) and log information in our CRM (SFDC).
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Travel 60% for business needs.  International travel may be required.
    • Reports to a Sales Manager

    CORE SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related field and/or a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in technical sales or a combination of technical sales, quality control, and technical services within the industrial chemical marketplace and/or metal stamping industry.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook. Strong written, verbal, and collaborative communication skills.
    • Experienced in conducting effective and professional sales/product training via in person or virtual (Webinar), to groups and various media forums.
    • Excellent listening skills and ability to review all details prior to determining and implementing appropriate actions.
    • Decision-making capabilities and sense of urgency.
    • Business classes/ seminars including organization and time management, Business Administration, and various sales helpful.
    • Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage priorities and work independently as well as on a team.
