    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    ITW’s interns are encouraged to think and act like entrepreneurs and are provided significant responsibility and autonomy to get things done.  As an intern, you will gain substantial personal learning and career development opportunities through ownership of real-world assignments, strong coaching, and mentorship. 

    The Diversity & Inclusion Intern – Deltar Fasteners will report to the Division Human Resources Manager and is responsible for supporting the development and execution of the diversity and inclusion strategic approach.  In this role, the Intern will develop project and program management skills, gain knowledge and experience working across D&I initiatives and their implementation, and contribute ideas for new programs or improvement of current programs. 

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    ·        Supporting D&I programs and strategic initiatives

    ·        Being a key part of the current D&I team and executing on the team’s vision

    ·        Partnering with and recruiting volunteers

    ·        Partners with the D&I leads to help support activities and programs that drive employee engagement and promote an inclusive and diverse work environment

    ·        Participates in cross-functional teams to help plan and organize activities for D&I awards and recognition

    ·        Proliferating the Deltar D&I team to other Auto NA facilities

    ·        Designing and facilitating learning and activities for employees

    ·        Reviewing data and providing insights regarding trends/opportunities

    ·        Helps gather D&I metrics and program effectiveness which will help assess impact and make informed decisions for next year

    ·        Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the internship manager

    POSITION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    ·        Current Junior or Senior working towards a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Social Justice, or another related field

    ·        Demonstrates passion for diversity and inclusion

    ·        Demonstrate leadership skills and relationship-building aptitude

    ·        Independent and organized work style. Effectively manage time and prioritize workload, assume, and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, adapt to change and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to make independent decisions and regularly suggest ways to improve processes and services

    ·        Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization

    ·        Strong technical skills/aptitude: Proficiency in MS Office programs

    ·        Exposure to Excel and analytics

    ·        Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information

    ·        Strong written/verbal communication skills demonstrate good listening skills, able to communicate status on process with colleagues, keep team members informed and responds clearly to employee inquiries

    ·        Demonstrates positive and friendly attitude in working with all levels within the organization
