  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Position Objective:

    Perform mechanical repairs, installation, fabrication or preventive maintenance on presses and other production equipment to achieve maximum efficiency.

    Essential Functions :

    • Troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating equipment as required to support manufacturing.
    • Make large repairs such as, replace broken topshafts, side shafts, backshafts, yokes and associated bushings/bearings.
    • The ability to measure and fabricate needed bearings/bushings.
    • the ability to fabricate all lathe and milled parts needed, from existing measurements or available prints.
    • The preferred candidate will have the ability to utilize cranes and forklifts to assist in rigging.
    • Pneumatic and hydraulic experience as it applies to tooling within the machine, is required.
    • Performing PMs/calibrations on assigned equipment ensuring the tasks are performed in a safe, correct, and timely manner.
    • Researching and sourcing parts, as needed, proving POS and part details to central stores.
    • Read and interpret specifications, diagrams, manuals, and other documentation.
    • Safely operate all shop tools and follow all company-required safety policies.
    • Attend and participate fully in training and safety sessions as assigned.
    • Comply with all regulatory, company, ISO, and departmental policies, SOPS, work instructions, and records.
    • Provide machine set-up, changeover, and part replacements as needed to support manufacturing.
    • Effectively present information with vendors and co-workers.
    • Read and comprehend complex instructions, equipment/instrumentation, assembly, mechanical, electrical, and P&ID drawings.
    • All other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Journeyman machinist with 10 years+ experience on specifically, Waterbury farrels and Baird presses
    • Must be able to work well in a team setting.
    • Ability to correspond and communicate via electronic systems.
    • Must be able to apply basic to intermediate math concepts.
    • Systemic troubleshooting methods to solve complex manufacturing problems.
    • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
    • Regularly work in an environment using the required PPE.
    • Ability to stand, walk, sit, crawl, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, hear, and lift/move/transport objects up to 50 lbs.
