Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to join our accounting department. This individual will engage with the accounting team to gain first-hand experience in financial analysis, accounts payable, accounting techniques, standard practices and accounting procedures in a corporate setting. The successful candidate will be a self-directed, results-oriented and customer focused individual and will have a strong interest in working with our business full time upon graduation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·       Work with the accounting team to learn and execute journal entry processes

·       Learn the accounts payable function (including keying and paying invoices and associated accounting)

·       Fixed asset management

·       Preparation of month-end close process

·       Processing of expense reports and related accounting

·       Ensure compliance with all Company and Financial Reporting policies and internal controls

·       Learn how to analyze accounts to understand fluctuations and review balance sheet reconciliation

·       Communicate around financial considerations with other departments in the business

·       Any other duties deemed appropriate within the scope of the role and in line with skills and experience

Qualifications

·       Enrolled in Accounting or equivalent degree-seeking program with classroom experience through the junior/senior year.

·       Ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.

·       GPA of 3.2 or above.

·       Attention to detail with accuracy is a must

·       Proficiency in MS Office software, specifically Excel, Word and Power Point

·       Excellent communication and customer interaction skills
