Job Description
We are looking for an Accounting Intern (On-going) to join our team in Houston, Texas. This position reports to the Car Care Division Accounting Manager.
This role will teach the candidate the basics of corporate accounting and they will assist with different aspects of accounting, including preparing and recording journal entries, prepare account reconciliation, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. They will also learn how to generate reporting from our various database. The position requires a highly organized individual capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
The internship will begin in Summer 2022. Upon successfully completed the summer program, it will be extended for the period of 6 months to one year. The goal of the Accounting On-going Internship program is to train, invest, and prepare students for future full-time employment in the industry.
Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in monthly book closing process. • Prepare monthly journal entries, bank and accounts reconciliations. • Maintain and report monthly sales and use tax. • Prepare daily sales tracker and enhance system reporting. • Assist in Corporate and external audit testing. • Assist in analysis and review of fixed asset and accounts payable. • Assist in Finance functions include maintain and improve data base, reporting, budgeting, and supply chain projects. This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay. QUALIFICATIONS: • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in Accounting or Finance related area. • Overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred. • Graduation dates of December 2022 through May 2023 preferred. • Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer required. • Able and willing to work 15-25 hours per week during the Fall/Spring semesters, including university breaks as needed required.
