    Job Description

    The intern must be located in the Houston metro area. The internship will be part-time (approx. 15 - 20 hours per week) through the summer 2024, with the potential to extend through their senior year.

    As an Intern with ITW Car Care, you will have the opportunity to work with Product Engineers and Chemists supporting the Wiper Blade Team, within our Research & Development Group. The Intern will participate in meaningful projects, gain real-world experiences, and develop a network of experienced professionals in preparation for your career.

    ** Duties and Responsibilities:**

    • Use mechanical engineering coursework/experience to develop innovative solutions to address product design problems.
    • Participate in product development using engineering skills and tools such as DFMEA, SolidWorks, etc.
    • Understand Wiper blade applications and maintain the Vehicle Application database, derive trends from the application data.
    • Conduct tests per relevant standards and analyze results to draw conclusions and inform business decisions effectively knowledge of customer insights/preferences to inform design decisions for new product development.
    • Develop an understanding of prototyping and manufacturing processes to inform product design.

    Qualifications:

    • Graduating in the Spring of 2025 with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
    • Exposure to AutoCad and Solidworks
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Proficient with common Microsoft Office suite programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc
    • Have a methodical and logical mindset thought process to perform engineering tasks
    • Must be a highly motivated self self-starter with a high degree of initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability
    • Ability to read and understand detailed technical drawings and specifications required
    • Multi-tasking with a detailed orientation and commitment to accountability in a fast-paced environment
