Job Description

SUMMARY:

The role of the ENGINEERING LAB TECHNICIAN is essential in performing day-to-day testing and operations of commercial warewash machines.  The Engineering Lab Technician works closely with the engineering group to evaluate prototype concepts and competitive equipment.  The ideal candidate will possess troubleshooting skills to ensure complete testing of prototypes for project deliverables.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

•  Develop and test solutions to solve technical problems
• Inspect products and conduct tests, collect data and report results
• Assemble engineering prototypes and analyze test data and document in report format
• Provide design feedback to engineers
• Comfortable installing test units in the field
•  Provide field technical support, service and training to customers as well as perform installs of warewash equipment
•  Perform functional tests both in the lab and at field test sites
• Assemble test fixtures for components including electrical, mechanical, steam and hydraulic
• Perform NSF and UL tests on warewash machines

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Computer skills - software proficiencies will include the Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to connect and troubleshoot wi-fi devices
• Ability to test and evaluate machine software features
• Ability to perform routine tests and write test reports
• Build wire harnesses, read electrical diagrams and troubleshoot basic electrical circuits
• Ability to wire high and low voltage electrical circuits/machines
• Ability to build prototypes, sweat and braze copper pipe
• Ability to analyze test data and provide documentation
• Good written communication skills
• Good communication skills with internal and external customers

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associates degree and 2-4 years of lab technician experience or equivalent
• 3 - 5 years of testing experience
• Experience with HVAC installations, a plus
• Technical experience
