Job Description

The Summer Help position at Hobart is designed to give students the hands-on exposure to daily lab, operations, projects and testing that impacts Food Machines’ products. Hobart is looking for a self-motivated and results-oriented individual to work on lab work, material handling, 6S, and testing.  The role will not be using any heavy equipment. This role is not an internship, but is directed towards candidates transitioning into higher education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·       Focus on specific operational processes in the lab and in the office area

·       Learn basic organizational and problem solving skills

·       Begin to build familiarity with products, testing, and data collection

·       Learn basic plant and manufacturing processes

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·       18 years of age or older

·       Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

·       Intent to pursue a technical education or degree supporting manufacturing or engineering

·       No prior college experience beyond coursework in a PSEO program

·       Capability to work independently

·       Ability to lift, move, and manipulate up to 50 lbs

·       Experience using basic hand tools.

·       MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL APTITUDE FOR ASSEMBLY AND DIS-ASSEMBLY OF COMPONENTS OR DEVICES.

·       Proactive in recognizing improvement opportunities as necessary

·       Familiar with Microsoft Office

·       FAMILIARITY WITH CAD PACKAGES SUCH AS CATIA OR SOLIDWORKS IS A BONUS.
