    Job Description

    This first shift Welder position starts out at $20.62 an hour and is responsible for a variety of GTAW and GMAW welding operations on stainless steel while observing safety, housekeeping and quality management procedures. Utilizing understanding of welding principles, will work from prints, follow written and verbal instructions, plan work and support the organization through teamwork. This position may require daily and/or weekend overtime to meet customer expectations.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in TIG, MIG welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding
    • Reads process sheets, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to prepare and plan parts/products for welding operations
    • Perform all positions welding for watertight, mechanical and structural strength on various operations
    • Fit, align, level and clamp parts in position; or locate and align in fixture or positioner
    • Weld in all planes, horizontal and vertical.
    • Use and maintain gas flux equipment.
    • Works within a team environment to execute weekly production schedules that are measured for productivity
    • Set up and adjust current, amperage, gas pressure, etc.
    • Perform responsibilities and tasks following quality and safety practices and procedures
    • Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
    • Responsible for all housekeeping protocols and reporting any inventory concerns to supervisor
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or GED with formal trades training or a minimum of two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Previous welding experience in manufacturing environment
    • Ability to read and write; and follow verbal and written instructions.
    • Ability to interpret blueprints and welding symbols and work from blueprints using scale, rule, square, etc.
    • Possess math skills to be able to perform operations involving decimals and fractions
    • Be able to lift and move parts of various sizes and weights with and without lifting devices; and be able to stand and bend for long periods
    • Ability to operate overhead hoists, handheld plasma and material handling equipment
    • May be required to lift up to 35 pounds
    • Ability to use hand and power tools, safely and efficiently
    • Ability to work with other team members and independently as needed
    • Attendance is an essential function and working overtime as scheduled to meet customer expectations

    • Working in hot/cold environment
    • May occasionally move material up to 50 lbs.
    • High frequency welding
    • Requires hearing protection, eye and foot protection and welding PPE
    • May require some climbing
    • Periods of Prolonged Standing/Sitting/Bending/Stooping throughout shift
