  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Work with Vulcan culinary, sales, and marketing teams to increase product sales and knowledge through cooking demonstrations and training, site visits, recipe evaluation and recipe programming, while being a highly visible and engaged member of the selling organization.
    • Enhance Vulcan product training (in-person and virtual) on current equipment line up and assist in developing new training and materials for future products.  
    • Coordinate and conduct live cooking demonstrations as part of regional and national trade shows such as NRA and NAFEM while drawing on personal network of culinary resources to support larger events.
    • Lead cooking demonstrations at Vulcan test kitchens in Baltimore, Charlotte, Troy, and Chicago involving the Vulcan sales team, Hobart National Accounts Team, sales reps, dealers, and end-users.
    • Conduct cooking demonstrations in the field including testing, trials and training events at rep test kitchens, corporate test kitchens, and at individual sites by working closely with decision makers and influencers at all levels to plan and conduct such events as necessary to grow product line sales.
    • Work with the marketing teams to create new and updated promotional content including training videos, social media posts, website content, testimonials, advertisements, and brochures.
    • Increase kitchen safety awareness inside the Vulcan organization to ensure the safety of our employees and guests as they participate in live cooking events and field trials at customer locations.
    • Strong understanding of the food equipment manufacturing industry
    • Experience planning and executing food production and demonstration at national and regional trade shows
    • Past success teaching and training others with food equipment operation
    • Well-versed in food preparation, menu planning, food safety and sanitation, and recipe creation 
    • Outgoing personality and professional nature with the ability to instill confidence in others
    • Strong understanding of the science behind food preparation and cooking
    • Familiar with kitchen operations, design, and equipment selection
    • Extensive combi oven experience including recipe programming
    • Hands-on experience with other major types of cooking equipment
    • Must be able to work independently in a team environment with multiple priorities
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Technology or related field or equivalent work experience

    • Ten years food preparation and menu development experience with a food equipment manufacturer, in a full-service restaurant, corporate kitchen or institutional foodservice operation

    • Strong presentation and public speaking skills

    • Ability to articulate and perform well on camera

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Desire to teach and empower others

    • Strong organizational, budgeting, and time management skills

    • Good decision making and judgment

    • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills

    • Passion for food and hospitality

    Additional Information

    • Based in Baltimore, MD
    • Travel requirement:  ~ 50-75%
    • Bonus eligible
