    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    Assists in the design, fabrication, installation, testing, operation and/or evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems, basics knowledge of refrigeration system and thermodynamic are desire. Performs standard product development activities including CAD layout, basic calculation and interpretation and implementation of specifications and documentation requirements. Provides existing product line support in design activities and/or modification of hardware in production. Assists in the evaluation of mechanical products to determine their cost-effectiveness and efficiency. Participates in engineering studies as assigned and analyzes data results with readily available guidance and review of work. This is considered an entry level professional engineering intern position.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Participate in product design, analysis, and prototyping
    • Work with senior engineers and designers to create sub-assemblies, BOMs for ongoing projects
    • Support technical support by providing service instructions, product support
    • Work with customers to install field trial units and collect data, analyze, and create reports
    • Create work instructions for manufacturing for critical sub-assemblies.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • Experience with Solidworks designing simple through intricate components
    • Familiar with Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
    • Previous job experience / project in Thermodynamics / HVAC/ Refrigeration is a plus
    • Sheet metal design/experience as a plus

    Education and Work Experience

    • Minimum Senior level toward mechanical engineering degree

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must be able to:

    • Perform activities including bending, stooping, standing, walking
    • Stand and walk from two (2) to four (4) hours per day
    • Climb up and down stairs two (2) to four (4) times per day
    • Operate common office equipment, i.e. PC, phone, copier, printer, fax
    • Use various measuring instruments, i.e. tape measure
    • Work in climate-controlled environment
