  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • Provide timely and efficient materials planning; ensure accurate and cost-efficient ordering by sourcing reliable vendors, soliciting quotes, preparing bids, negotiating best price/terms,  ensuring supply quality
    • Monitor orders to guarantee delivery commitments; ensure expedition 
    • Build/develop relationships with key suppliers (visit as necessary); maintain accurate awareness of suppliers’ capabilities, logistics, contracts, terms, etc. and work with suppliers resolving issues
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of backorders and supplier lead times; adjust activities as needed and ensure priorities are communicated
    • Create/maintain master production schedule for assigned product line(s); ensure efficient flow of production from raw material to finished goods which meet demands; accurately anticipate needs and adjust activities to meet assigned production goals
    • Create work orders and purchases orders, ensure regular review, update, and  PO closure
    • Monitor inventory and track manufacturing output to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained in line with production; adjust activities to ensure cost-efficient inventory levels and adequate safety stock; communicate trends or anticipated problems to management 
    • Analyze and evaluate timing of product changes, obsolescence, and expiration dates to minimize scrap dollars
    • Coordinate return of rejected materials to supplier for replacement or credit
    • Follow DCO as required; update BOM, assign new part numbers, update parts master data, etc.
    • Work cross-functionally to ensure successful new product transfer and to implement improvements, address non-conformances and meet goal deadlines
    • Preemptively identify and resolve issues that may impact product availability; ensure major and unresolved matters are escalated to management immediately    
    • Maintain metrics and generate reports 
    • Ensure continual regulatory and quality system compliance

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    A. Education  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred B. Experience  A minimum of five years materials management or equivalent experience preferred; previous experience within a regulated medical device manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment preferred C. Knowledge/Skill  Technical proficiency with ERP and MRP systems and Microsoft Office required; must be able to learn new systems quickly     Knowledge of cGMP QSR, FDA, ISO 13485 preferred
