Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

This position entails all aspects of R&D and Quality product testing, process and method development, and operations troubleshooting under the supervision of the R&D Director.  The successful candidate will work with silicone, acrylic, epoxy, and aqueous chemistries, while also learning ISO 9001:2015 standards.  A moderate degree of independent work ability and individual initiative will be expected in fulfilling the requirements of this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with Quality department to evaluate current production processes and test methods
• Assist in converting R&D and Quality analog files and data into digital format
•  Perform regular calibrations and validations of test equipment and laboratory chemical solutions
• Ensure safety by identifying potential hazards and by observing all laboratory and plant safety requirements
• Troubleshoot with quality, R&D, and manufacturing to tackle unique challenges on the production floor
• Assist quality with evaluating raw materials and components real time on the production floor
• Additional job activities as may be required by the R&D Department

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Minimum Qualifications:

• Pursuing or obtained a BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or applicable field
• <1 year and/or <2 semesters relevant practical laboratory experience in field or educational setting
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate and excellent organization skills
• Must have excellent math skills
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
