The ideal candidate has a passion for recognizing potential problems and taking appropriate preventative action, strong end-user interaction and communication skills, and the ability to support a wide variety of users through phone, email and personal interactions.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

• Work out of our Addison, IL and Chicago, IL office(s)
• 4-5 years of experience with VMware technologies.
• Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting virtualization solutions.
• Perform customer system assessments to determine best course of action.
• Confer with management, define the bounds and aims of system implementations, create project plans, and provide management with status and progress reports.
• Consult with clients on planning projects. Establish customer standards that enable business improvements by implementing forward-looking, scalable technology solutions.
• Create and document all actions, practices, procedures and processes.
• Assists in pre-sales efforts by attending meetings and helping to prepare design and scope-of-work documents.
• Mentor team members.
• Other reasonable System Engineer services associated with the planning, deployment, installation, administration, and management of virtualized solutions
• Work with technologies connected to and associated with Virtualization solutions (Backup, Storage, Networking, Servers)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
• Must have knowledge of Data Networks (WAN, LAN, IP, Routing and Switching, DNS and DHCP and VPN).
• Working knowledge of Storage Technologies such as SAN, NAS, Performance monitoring and tuning.
• 4-5 years of experience with virtualization solutions
• Experience with security and system hardening of virtualized and server technologies
• Knowledge of Hybrid and Cloud solutions
• Knowledge and experience with hyper converged are a plus
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Great communication skills, in-person, written and phone
• Superior organizational skills

• VMware Certification is a plus
• MS Exchange 2007/2010/2013
• SCCM a plus
• VMware 5/6
• VMware View
• VMware SRM
• HyperV Experience
