    AleraCare, a provider of infusion treatments and specialty pharmacy services, has an opening for an IV-certified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Pueblo clinic/infusion center location. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in therapeutic drug management, with expertise in IV skills, including starting and monitoring IVs. We currently have 30+ ambulatory infusion clinics in six western states. Our centers are open Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm; however, our Pueblo location needs a consistent LPN presence 2-3 days per week, 8:30am-5:00pm. This is a part-time opportunity with a competitive hourly rate.

    Position Summary:

    The IV-certified Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing nursing services to assigned patients in accordance with the patient’s plan of care.

    Responsibilities:

    IV Therapy:

    • Initiates and monitors intravenous (IV) therapy for patients receiving therapeutic drug treatments.
    • Ensures proper IV insertion techniques and maintains IV site integrity.
    • Monitors patients for adverse reactions and manages complications related to IV therapy.

    Injectables:

    • Administers intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections as prescribed.
    • Monitors patients for adverse reactions and manages complications related to injectable medications.

    Patient Care:

    • Provides high-quality nursing care to patients in a clinic/infusion center setting.
    • Conducts patient assessments, including vitals signs and health history.
    • Prepares clinical and progress notes, coordinates services, informs the physician and other personnel of changes in the patient’s condition and needs.
    • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the providers.
    • Educates patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques.

    Clinical Support:

    • Assists healthcare providers with procedures and examinations.
    • Maintains accurate and detailed patient records, including documentation of treatments and patient responses.
    • Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.

    Compliance and Safety:

    • Adheres to all organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
    • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, including infection control and safety standards.
    • Participates in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education programs.

    General/Professional

    • Participates in committees when requested and staff meetings as required.
    • Stays current with continuing and internal education programs, including annual compliance programs.
    • Represents organization in a positive and professional manner.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Education:

    • Graduate of an accredited LPN program

    Licensure/Certification:

    • Current LPN state license required
    • IV Certification required
    • Healthcare Provider BLS certification required

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinic or ambulatory care setting.
    • Must have experience with therapeutic drug management; one or more year preferred.

    Skills:

    • Proficient in IV insertion and monitoring.
    • Skilled in administering IM and SQ injections.
    • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
    • Detail-orientated with strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to recognize and direct pertinent clinical information to appropriate healthcare providers.
    • Strong computer skills and recent experience with electronic medical record (EMR). Must also be able to navigate and use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)

    General :

    • Current CPR card, state licensure, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, automobile insurance.
    • Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed.
