We are seeking an associate who has a passion for immigration to help take our growing law firm to the next level. We are not your typical law firm. We are poised for aggressive growth, and we’re looking for an attorney who can hit the ground running to give our clients outstanding representation. You need to have strong research and writing skills and know your way around a courtroom. Responsibilities: • Take ownership of a client's case – federal immigration proceedings, from consultation to the end of the case • Take ownership of existing cases and start immediately working with existing clients • Conduct client meetings and recommend strategies • Delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants and monitor their work • Full-service immigration services: family immigration, employment immigration, deportation defense • Meet with potential clients • Handle all aspects of the case, starting with the sale process through the end of case life Qualifications: • Skills and experience are important and valued, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations. We need an attorney who already has immigration experience, but experience and attitude are just as important • High-maintenance, humorless, self-entitled, or self-important individuals will not succeed in this position and need not apply • If you think immigration law is about filling out forms, do not apply • If we can’t count on you to show up in court on time, don’t apply • We are growing, and you will be called upon to wear many hats. We need someone who does not think that the occasional need to scan your own documents is “beneath you." • You must have at least 5 years of experience in US immigration law • You must have a JD and be licensed to practice in any state (preferably Illinois but not required) • Bilingual English-Arabic is an advantage but not required Compensation: $90,000 - $111,000
