Job Description

Contributes to the development, design and continuation support of ice machine, ice storage and ice related products and accessories. May manage and / or coordinate engineering projects and assume ownership of design, prototype, test and transition to production under the guidance of more senior level engineer(s). Creates CAD models, layouts, assemblies and drawings and is responsible for issuing and maintaining engineering documentation.  Contributes to or leads product redesign teams and will manage small projects required to meet business needs under the direction of more senior level engineer(s).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *Creates CAD models, layouts, assemblies and drawings *Prepares and processes engineering change documentation *Manage small engineering projects to improve or modify product to meet specific customer or business needs.  Develop schedules, cost estimates, and provide required updates *Participate, support the design, redesign products and/or processes that meet design guidelines and achieve quality, safety, cost and timeline targets *Provide engineering information and support to manufacturing engineering during the DVU, prototype, and pilot process to improve manufacturability and quality

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES *Knowledge of engineering and scientific principles *Ability to work in an engineering lab and manufacturing environment *Ability to develop detailed engineering reports and provide updates to executive leadership *Ability to work within policy and procedures but have the ability to make decisions as required *Skilled at following set daily priorities; however, the individual is expected to evaluate and respond to changing situations requiring attention

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE *BS in Engineering or a related scientific degree with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering and or Mechanical Design *0 to 2 years work experience in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design.  An applicable internship or co-op experience a plus.  Knowledge of CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks
