    Job Description: Senior Accounting Specialist

    Responsible for performing Cash allocation, Account Reconciliation, Account Monitoring & Collections.

    Essential Job Functions (includes but is not limited to):

    • Perform a variety of tasks related to maintaining the accounts receivable records, such as preparing customer statements, month end bank account reconciliations
    • Liaison with Sales to escalate any uncollected balances whereas collection team is unsuccessful
    • Resolve any client inquiries regarding disputes and/or clarifications needed to proceed with payment. If credits are required, responsible to work with responsible department to ensure timely delivery
    • Post/allocate daily receipts, process/post credit card payments, and send live checks to the bank for deposit
    • Monitor monthly forecast daily to provide actual vs forecasted amounts
    • Verify detail of bank transfer transactions, such as funds received and total account balances.
    • Analyze and report financial information related to A/R Aging and invoicing activity.
    • Contact customers directly regarding any issues with payments, billing options, account reconciliations, and collections.
    • Provide training and guidance to staff and other department specialists.
    • Interact with other departments Sales, Billing, and Treasury to perform special tasks to obtain and/or coordinate customer billing, forecasting, and collections.
    • Follow and enforce all company protocol and controls.
    • Prepare month end reports to provide to Corporate Group Credit Manager for consolidated reporting/reconciliation
    • Report weekly (or as needed) to upper management for any accounts deemed at risk providing the reason and action plan
    • Document procedures and changes to SOP.
    • Carry out various administrative duties such as Filing, Emailing, Phone Calls, Mass Mailings and Backup to other departments.

    Note: In addition to the Essential Functions, also performs similar work-related duties as assigned.

     

    Required Skills
    • Strong working knowledge of billing and financial concepts
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
    • Meet firm deadlines
    • Ability to operate computer, fax machine, telephone, calculator, copier and time clock
    • Strong detail oriented
    • Must be able to multi-task
    • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with customers and colleagues
    • Must be punctual and be able to follow daily schedules for breaks and lunches
    • Self-Starting ability
    • Excellent customer services skills

     

    Required Experience
    • High School diploma and equivalent work experience.
    • Should at least have two years of related collection experience
    • Experience with Great Plains or other accounting software is preferred

     

    Must be United States citizen (dual citizenship may be allowed)
