About the Role
We’re seeking an Identity & Collaboration Infrastructure Engineer to support and modernize enterprise identity, messaging, and collaboration platforms as part of a Directory & Unified Communications team. This role focuses on stability, optimization, and modernization of core Microsoft and SaaS collaboration technologies within a large-scale hybrid environment.
You’ll serve as a senior escalation point, drive deep troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, and help improve reliability and security across directory, email, and communications services. If you enjoy solving high-impact issues, simplifying operations through automation and documentation, and working in complex environments, this role is a strong fit.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Tier-3 escalation support for identity, messaging, and collaboration platforms; manage incidents via ServiceNow
Administer, optimize, and support Active Directory, Azure AD, Exchange (on-prem and online), and Microsoft 365 hybrid services
Support collaboration tools, including Slack, Skype for Business, and Zoom
Perform advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across directory, email, and communications services
Partner with engineering teams on upgrades, migrations, and new platform initiatives to improve stability and modernize services
Coordinate with vendors to resolve complex platform issues, ensuring incidents are tracked through closure
Improve operational excellence by enhancing procedures, automation, and technical documentation
Identify and implement improvements to performance, reliability, and security within identity and messaging systems
Participate in an on-call rotation supporting a 24x7 global environment
Required Qualifications
5+ years administering enterprise Active Directory, messaging, and collaboration platforms
Deep hands-on expertise with Microsoft Exchange (2010–2019) and Exchange Online
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and hybrid Microsoft environments
Experience managing Windows Server 2012–2019 infrastructure
Solid understanding of networking services/protocols: DNS, DHCP, SMTP, TCP/IP
Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise and scripting and/or pattern matching (Regex)
Demonstrated ownership mindset with a strong focus on problem resolution and process improvement
Nice to Have (Preferred)
Experience supporting identity and messaging in large enterprise or global environments
Exposure to automation approaches (PowerShell or similar) and infrastructure modernization initiatives
Strong documentation habits and ability to translate complex issues into repeatable runbooks
