  • Responsibilities

    The Head of School is the lead administrator responsible for all school activities, instruction, and success at Ignite Achievement Academy. Reporting to the Ignite Education Group CEO, the Head of School provides strategic leadership and direction to ensure the school's mission, vision, and values are upheld.

    The Head of School works closely with the Ignite Education Group CEO, Vice President of Operations, administrative assistant, and directly supervises all teachers, teacher assistants, school counselors, and other school staff.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Leadership and Administration:

    • Provide visionary leadership to the school community, including students, faculty, and staff.
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that support the school's mission and objectives.
    • In combination with the CEO, manage the school's budget, financial resources, and administrative operations effectively.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes academic excellence, student well-being, and community engagement.

    2. Academic Oversight:

    • Oversee curriculum development, implementation, and assessment to ensure academic excellence and alignment with educational standards.
    • Monitor student progress and academic performance, implementing strategies for improvement as needed.
    • Collaborate with department-level teams and individual teachers to support their professional growth and enhance teaching practices.
    • Utilize student data to drive instructional decisions and improve learning outcomes.

    3. Student Support and Engagement:

    • Foster a supportive and enriching learning environment that meets the diverse needs of students.
    • Implement programs and initiatives to support student well-being, academic success, and college/career readiness.
    • Establish effective communication channels to engage students and parents in the school community.

    4. Community Relations:

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, students, alumni, donors, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent the school in external events, conferences, and meetings to promote its mission and values.
    • Collaborate with external partners to enhance the school's resources and opportunities for students.

    Qualifications:

    • A master's degree or higher in education administration or a related field.
    • Previous experience in a K-12 leadership role within an educational institution, preferably with experience in a special education environment.
    • Strong understanding of K-12 education, curriculum development, and educational best practices.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of educators and staff.
    • Knowledge of relevant educational technology and online learning platforms.
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and diverse school community.
