    We are a busy Miami immigration law firm seeking an Immigration Legal Assistant or Paralegal to support our attorneys through case document organization, client communication, form preparation, schedule management, and case package preparation in the areas of employment-based immigration, family-based immigration, and removal defense. We are looking for someone who is bilingual with experience in immigration law. Responsibilities: Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines • Draft cover letters, client letters, case notes, and immigration forms • Answer and return client and potential client phone calls and emails • Meet with clients to review case documents and forms • Schedule client meetings and court hearings • Oversee and mentor junior staff • Pick up mail, scan documents and make copies • Follow up with clients concerning evidence and payments for case • Monitor attorney calendar to ensure all deadlines met Qualifications: Experience with legal software, litigation case management, and docketing programs 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant Candidates should have strong organizational skills and communication skills Associate’s degree, or some college is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is necessary • Fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English. Portuguese, Creole, and other language abilities beneficial • Ability to work full time (40 hours per week) • Reliable transportation to work location in Miami, zip code 33138 • Pass background check • Previous immigration law firm experience highly preferred • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with immigration software, OneDrive, and Quickbooks a plus • A professional attitude, motivation to learn and help others, friendly personality, ability to get along with others, and drive to achieve high quality work • Ability to multi-task and work quickly in a fast-pace environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times • Customer service experience preferred Compensation: $41,600 - $52,000
