Immigration Legal Assistant – Bilingual (Spanish/English)

Job Summary:
Our immigration law firm is seeking a dedicated and bilingual Legal Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting immigrant communities and is looking to grow in the legal field. As an Immigration Legal Assistant, you will help our attorneys prepare immigration applications, gather necessary documentation, communicate with clients, and assist with day-to-day administrative tasks. This position requires excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation for this role is dependent upon experience
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in completing USCIS forms and gathering supporting documents (e.g., birth certificates, marriage licenses)
Organize case files and track deadlines
Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish to collect information and provide updates
Schedule client meetings and manage calendars
Perform general administrative duties (filing, scanning, data entry, correspondence)
Qualifications:
Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
Prior experience in immigration law or legal office setting (preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Comfortable with technology and experience with Cerenade software
Flexible schedule and ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines

Matthew Baysinger is married with 3 young children, ages 7, 4 and 2. He likes family outings, sports, fishing, video games, movies and reading. He also loves following Chicago sports teams which cause him mostly heartache and anger. He uses that anger to help him aggressively defend his clients against banks and others creditors.
